Transport

Country Information
We have compiled transport information for each destination, based on our experience and knowledge of how to get your order easily, economically, quickly, and safely to your destination or doorstep. The transport information under each country specifies: Freight options, packing and insurance rates, order deadlines, departure dates, clearing agent etc. For transport information regarding your destination, please click on Contact in the top right corner.

Packing
All merchandise will be securely packed (and charged at cost) in accordance with the mode of transport, i.e. in export cartons, wooden boxes, steel strapped where necessary.
Extra packing may be necessary in order to ensure that your orders arrive safely, which means that packing charges may occur.

Delivery
Deliveries are subject to relevant official regulations, etc. We cannot be held responsible for strikes, war, states of emergency, or other conditions beyond our control.
Goods are shipped at the customer's expense and risk. Freight costs are charged at the rate prevailing on the date the order is placed.

Transport Insurance
Your order is insured by Peter Justesen Company A/S based on the rate specified in the Transport information. Please remember to inspect the shipment and be sure that you have received the ordered amount of items before signing the delivery Insurance & Guarantee.

Import Procedures
In most countries, you have to apply for a franchise in order to import your goods. There may be special information and documents that you have to fill in as well. In most countries it is possible to apply for the franchise on the basis of a pro forma invoice to speed up the clearance of the goods. If the goods are not collected from the clearing agent, normally within 4-5 working days, an extra storage fee will be charged locally. For some destinations we reserve the right to ask for a copy/original of an approved franchise before dispatch.

Group Orders
When several customers place their orders together, freight costs are often lower and security in transit is higher. Each customer receives an individual invoice, including his share of shipping costs. consolidated invoice will be issued, if required.

Dangerous Goods
To ensure safety, we follow the international regulations of Dangerous Goods from IATA. Your shipment will be packed and shipped according to the Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR). This might have an impact on your order depending on your mix of products, mode of shipment and destination.

Which products?
Generally, the following product types are considered Dangerous Goods:

- Aerosol cans
- Many of our perfumes
- Batteries

Transport options:
The Dangerous Goods Regulations are applicable for every mode of transport e.g. air freight, DHL, truck, and vessel. However, there are vast differences in how strict the regulations are according to mode of shipment and destination.

Most likely you will only encounter the Dangerous Goods Regulations if ALL of the following conditions are fulfilled:

- The mode of shipment is DHL or Airfreight
- Your order contains aerosol cans or perfumes
- The destination is outside of Europe

Customer Service will be happy to assist you with questions regarding Dangerous Goods. Contact customer service on customerservice@pj.dk or +45 3915 9600.

Parcel Post and Air Parcel Post:
No liquids or items that can be considered weapons (incl. knives longer than 12 cm/4.7 in) are allowed.

DHL:
Please note that DHL shipments are subject to DHL restrictions.
For voluminous goods we reserve the right to charge freight based on volume instead of weight, i.e. one cubic meter = 200 kilos. No items that can be considered weapons (incl. knives longer than 12 cm/4.7 in) are allowed.
A Dangerous Goods surcharge may occur depending on the destination.
DHL offers Door to Door Service at most destinations, and your order will be delivered to the main entrance of the destination or to your private address. For heavy or voluminous products such as pianos and refrigerators, extra charges will occur and must be paid locally (incl. unpacking).
At some destinations, local rules and regulations overrule the Door to Door Service, and as a consequence local charges or exceptions may occur. This varies from destination to destination, and neither DHL nor Peter Justesen Company A/S can be held responsible for any additional charges that may occur. Please contact your local DHL office for further information about regulations in your country.
