Special remarks to different ways of
transportation
Truck:
For few destinations, we reserve the right to charge
freight based on volume instead of weight for voluminous
goods.
Air Freight:
For voluminous goods we reserve the right to charge freight based on volume instead of weight, i.e. one cubic meter = 167 kilos. Dangerous Goods surcharge may occur depending on destination.
Dangerous Goods
To ensure safety for everyone we follow the international regulations
of Dangerous Goods from IATA. Your shipment will be packed and shipped
according to the Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR). However, this might
have an impact on your order depending on your product mix,
mode of shipment and destination.
Products
In broad terms are the following goods considered Dangerous Goods : Aerosol cans, a great share of our perfumes and batteries.
Mode of shipment and destination
The Dangerous Goods Regulations are applicable for every mode of transport e.g. airfreight, DHL, truck, and vessel. However, there are vast differences in how strict the Regulations are according to mode of shipment and destination.
Most likely you will only encounter the Dangerous Goods Regulations if ALL of the following conditions are fulfilled
- Your mode of shipment is DHL or Airfreight
- Your order contains aerosol cans or perfumes
- Your destination is outside Europe
Naturally Customer Service will assist with any questions regarding Dangerous Goods
Parcel Post and Air Parcel Post:
No kinds of liquids and weapons (and knives longer than 12 cm/4.7 in) are allowed.
DHL:
For voluminous goods we reserve the right to charge freight based on volume instead of weight, i.e. one cubic meter = 200 kilos. No kind of weapons (and knives longer than 12 cm/4.7 in) are allowed.
In general you as a customer will not suffer economically for buying Dangerous Goods, but a Dangerous Goods surcharge may occur depending on your destination.
In most destinations DHL offers door to door service and your order will be delivered to the main entrance of the mission or to your private address. For heavy or voluminous products such as pianos and refrigerators, extra charges will occur and must be paid locally (incl. unpacking).
At some destinations local rules and regulations overrule the door to door service, and as a consequence local charges or exceptions may occur. This varies from destination to destination, and neither DHL nor Peter Justesen can be held responsible for any additional charges that may occur. Please contact your local DHL office for further information about your country
Packing
Based on our experience and knowledge,
extra packing may be necessary in order to ensure that your
orders arrive safely. Packing Charges may occur.
Insurance
Your order is insured by PJC based on
the rate specified in the Transport Information. Please
remember to inspect the shipment and count the number of
cartons before signing the receipt. In case of any
discrepancy, please contact the delivery company in writing
and inform PJC accordingly. Please also read the Insurance
Claims paragraph for more information.
Group Orders
When more people place their orders
together, freight costs are often lower and security in
transit is higher. Each customer receives an individual
invoice, including his share of shipping costs.
A consolidated invoice will be issued, if required.
